The new RSP Code of Conduct
The RSP Code of Conduct contains the standards which define what is “responsibly” produced natural stone. The implementation of the code must be done in a step-by-step fashion. The three levels reflect the realities of what can be achieved in quarries and factories in time.

- Quarries and factories must operate legally
- Wages and hours of work must meet legal minimum
- Child, bonded or forced labour must not be used
- Good health and safety standards must be in place on all work sites
Basic environmental impact is managed
LEVEL 2 - The aim of all participating factories after two years and quarries after three years in the Code Implementation Program
- Contractual relationships exist with all workers and must be documented
- All accommodation on the production site is safe
- A proactive management plan is in place which also considers air and water emissions
- Company must have policies in place that that allow Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
- Company must have a policy of non-discrimination in the workplace
LEVEL 3 - Is not compulsory, but achieving this level will earn the company an honorary level of assurance

- The factory manages good relationships with stakeholders, including local communities
